Flat!

One of the features we wanted to achieve was to create a form that could be totally flat across the whole assembly. The product is intended to sit comfortably on any surface, without any protruding features.

Every part in the assembly is designed for precision manufacturing, with absolute fitment between the panels.

Screws & Spring

We wanted to create a pleasant tactile experience without using rubber bands, only mechanical engineering. The challenge comes from a requirement to apply even pressure to any amount of cards while maintaining a slim profile inside of the assembly.

This is where the use of our leaf spring design is so crucial, it's an extremely thin component that allows for a stealthy and functional hold on your cards inside of the assembly.

The cardholder assembly is held up together on both sides by 8 precision Swiss-machined stainless steel screws, creating an interesting illusion: the top screws are eccentric rather than concentric and functionally act as a nut rather than a screw.

Finish

The brutal shape and the use case of this product called for an orthodox approach to finishing.

We offer the Si Cardholder in a rock tumbled raw aluminum, which allows for the texture to be live and change naturally over time, embracing wear and patination as part of the aesthetic.

We intentionally left some of the tool marks visible, offering a glimpse into our manufacturing process and emphasizing the machining precision of our products.

US MADE

The Si Cardholder is precison machined, and assembled entirely in the United States — not for the label, but for the freedom and speed it gives us.

We pride ourselves in being tinkerers and experimenters. We pride ourselves in figuring out the hard things. We love to see the product take shape, pass after pass of the CNC mill.

Inevitably, when you involve local craftsmanship, what you get in return is care, attention and and focus — the kind that pushes the product even further.
